Marauders Stuff FloMo in OT

The Marcus Marauders reclaimed the Mound Showdown Trophy tonight after defeating the FloMo Jaguars 28-21 in OT.
Marcus took the lead in OT on a 1 yard TD run by Stephen Hopkins; after the Jaguars got possession, they were pushed back with a holding penalty, and then the Marauder Defense smothered them, drilling QB Brandon Colquitt into the field turf on 4th down at the 30.

What a game, and what a gigantic show of guts and determination by everyone, coaches, players and trainers.

Did anyone see Michael Gill getting worked on all night? His legs were killing him, but the student trainers worked like mad to get him ready to punt and be ready for passing plays. The guy was in pain, I was on the sidelines and saw it all.
Thanks to the trainers efforts, he could punt, catch a huge TD pass, and have a huge run in OT. A HUGE credit to Mr. Gill, also, for doing many things to help MHS win.

Another great moment were the
"no 6" signs held up.

Sometimes when you win, you say things like "give credit to the other team" and such. No way. Sure it was competitive, but if you show no class, and are so 'over the top cocky', don't expect any 'love' when it's over and your team LOST.

Looks like the 'cream puff killers' may end up in the bottom
3rd of the district. What's up, you can't run with the big boys?

Way to hang in there and fight Marauders. You never gave up on yourselves and each other, or let the cocky attitude of your opponents get the better of you. It is that kind of spirit that is contagious and promotes postive outcomes. Keep believing in yourselves and work hard as a team. You will go far!! Marcus take state!!
